Landscape Advice:

Pool Maintenance

Warm weather is fast approaching which means that the time to open up your pool is too. There are a few things that you should do to keep your pool in good condition throughout the season. Before opening your pool, it is important to remove any water and debris from the cover. Cleaning and rinsing the pool cover before removal will help to keep the cover in good condition. When opening your pool, roll or fold the cover and water bags. Make sure to re-install the pool fittings, accessories and deck equipment. You may notice that the waterline and coping in your pool have gotten dirty over the winter months. The best solution for this is to hand-scrub these areas.

Once you have completed the steps above, you are ready to add your chemical kit and begin water circulation. In order to keep your pool looking great all summer, it is important to test and balance the water weekly, and add chemicals as required. Using a pool vacuum weekly will keep your pool sparkling all season long! Frequently rinse the scum line and check salt cells if needed.
